Marshall ACM was launched in 2002 by David Marshall, formerly Head of Research at Penna Consulting. Now, with over one hundred public and private sector organisations using our online diversity training, we are an established leader in our field.
Based in Southwark in the heart of London, we offer a friendly and flexible service that's focused on quality, speed and innovation.
We work with clients throughout the UK and increasingly internationally, and we visit each in person. But most importantly, we recognise that the key to our growth is demonstrating value over a sustained period of time.
Marshall ACM e-learning
At Marshall ACM we create e-learning which is:
What we achieved in 2009
2009 was a fantastic year for us. We expanded our range of courses, in particular with regard to online safeguarding and we now offer e-learning courses in Child Protection, Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults and The Mental Capacity Act. These courses were developed in association with our partner Barnardo's.
Last year we increased the number of organisations using our e-learning diversity courses to more than 160, and most of these clients also now take advantage of our accompanying equality impact assessment toolkit.
During autumn 2009, we worked with the University of Manchester to release a brand new interactive course. Our Diversity Training for Students programme helps raise the importance of diversity for students on the campus whilst also preparing them for the workplace.
A further growth area for us has been our data protection & IT security range of e-learning courses which we developed in collaboration with the University of Durham.
And finally, we were commissioned by the University of Hertfordshire to develop a range of health and safety e-learning training courses.
Our next challenge is to make sure 2010 is just as exciting, and our plans include recruiting more staff and expanding our operations from our South Bank University base.
Web Accessibility
A huge priority for us is to ensure that our e-learning courses continually comply with web accessibility guidelines. Organisations often focus on 'interactive' e-learning which must be switched off if voice reader software is being used. This results in a confusing experience for the user. Therefore we commissioned an external accessibility consultancy to make sure we set a standard of excellence in this area. It means that our e-learning courses now require a full audit where an external consultancy measures accessibility against all disabled user groups (blind, partially sighted, motor impaired, cognitive impaired etc.)
Our values
We created Marshall ACM because we were aware that organisations often commissioned e-learning and then never used it. We take a committed approach to helping our clients make the most of the entire process beginning with the project management of launching and maintaining the site. We then assist clients in registering their users, we write guidance for staff on how to use the modules, and finally we evaluate all feedback from the initial pilot. And by applying this core value of excellent customer service to our outstanding technology, you discover the real formula for our success. Thank you for visiting our site - if you have any questions at all about our work please do not hesitate to contact me.
Regards,
David Marshall
