Business Sectors: Local Government
Marshall ACM are doing a great deal of work in local government to organise regional collaboration across local authorities.
In the north east Marshall ACM arranged a consortium purchase of the module within the north east across six councils, this model is now being introduced regionally across the UK with major consortiums being put together through 2007.
The challenge in local government was designing a tool which would not be patronising for staff who had already undertaken diversity training but at the same time prove accessible for new joiners to undertake at induction.
The local authorities using Marshall ACM e-learning have all said that they use the programme to underpin their efforts towards The Equality Standard for Local Government.

The next step for Marshall ACM has been to create a local government Customer Service course which has a strong theme of equality and diversity running through it. The result is that we can now offer local authorities a comprehensive web based diversity training option which can cover the councils employment policies and legislation and an option to extend this to looking at how to include diversity awareness in the service delivery of front line staff.
Our recruitment and selection course has now been tailored for local government and it has been commissioned by several councils to accompany Diversity in the Workplace.
