The Future of Equality

FREE INTERACTIVE SESSION

Friday 25th June 2010 9.30am to 4.00pm

Venue: West Midlands Police Service HQ, Lloyd House,
Colmore Circus, Queensway, B4 6NQ

In October 2010 the New Equality Act will become legislation. The opportunities and challenges this will bring will impact upon everyone in the UK. The concept and application of the new 'Protected Characteristics' will be explored; specifically how they apply to effective equality impact assessments.

This event offers an opportunity to share good practice, and hear how colleagues are shaping up for the changes. Expert advisers will present on how we can achieve equality and inclusion outcomes in the context of cuts and reduced budgets.

You will leave the session confident in your ability to make objective decisions about data collection, robust evidence and monitoring in line with the new Act.

The programme includes three interactive sessions delivered by experts in the field, and advice and solutions that organisations can use to deliver good practice.
